So what is a Spool?

The word spool is a combination of a spa and a pool. Spools are typically oversized spas somewhere around 12’ X 14’. Measuring approximately 10 to 16 feet long and 6 to 8 feet wide, a spool is obviously much smaller than an in-ground swimming pool, but at least twice the length of the average spa.

Sometimes referred to as a Cocktail Pools, they are generally designed for smaller lots when space is tight. More and more however, people are finding Spools and Cocktail Pools a viable option for many reasons. For example, a spool can provide more features on a fixed budget than a larger pool would allow?

Unlike a swimming pool, a spool comes equipped with strong jets that create a swirling current against which to swim. This allows you to get a workout in a relatively small amount of space; often swimming in place. With this in mind, you might want to first use the spool as a pool, then, later in the day or evening, heat it up to relax and use it as a spa. Contact Greecian Pools today at 661-832-0991!
